China's motorcycle industry maintained solid growth momentum in June 2026, with both production and sales achieving double-digit year-on-year growth. According to the latest statistics released by the China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycles (CCCM), exports remained a key growth driver, while domestic demand showed positive momentum, contributing to a more balanced and resilient market.

For international buyers, the latest figures highlight China's continued strength as a global motorcycle manufacturing and sourcing hub, with expanding opportunities across complete motorcycles, electric mobility products, components and specialized vehicles.

June Exports Remain a Key Growth Driver

China exported 1.37 million motorcycles in June 2026, up 15.75% year on year, while export value reached USD 1.001 billion, increasing 23.06% compared with the same period last year.

The continued growth in both export volume and value reflects sustained international demand for Chinese motorcycles and the improving competitiveness of Chinese manufacturers across different product segments.

Domestic demand also showed positive momentum during the month. Motorcycle sales in China reached 877,800 units in June, up 25.99% year on year and 9.63% month on month.

Based on CCCM's sample-based statistics, electric motorcycle sales increased 55.63% year on year. Motorcycles above 250cc recorded sales growth of 10.10%, indicating rising demand for premium and leisure-oriented models.

First-Half Performance Highlights Continued Industry Momentum

The positive performance in June extended the growth trend seen during the first half of 2026.

From January to June 2026, China's motorcycle industry produced 12.09 million units and sold 12.07 million units, representing year-on-year increases of 12.68% and 12.53%, respectively. Complete motorcycle exports reached 7.57 million units, up 17.0% year on year, with export value increasing to USD 5.175 billion. Total motorcycle product exports, including complete motorcycles, ATVs, engines and parts, totaled USD 6.575 billion, up 23.99% year on year.

Among export categories, 125cc and 150cc motorcycles remained the largest export segments, while motorcycles above 250cc and ATVs recorded some of the strongest growth during the first half. Motorcycle engine and parts exports, however, declined compared with the same period last year, reflecting varied performance across different product categories.
